Summary:

Active-matrix addressing in the essential enabling technology for high-resolution flat-panel displays. This short course will introduce TFT processes and device structures employing various types of semiconductors such as amorphous, LTPS, and microcrystalline silicon as well as organic and metal oxide. Specific consideration will be given to additional processing steps required for implementing entire backplanes and the interplay between TFT characteristics, display media media active-matrix structures, and addressing signals.
