Summary:

This short course is designed as a comprehensive introduction to the field of organic light-emitting diodes (OLEDs). The course will begin with a brief history of OLEDs and the fundamental physics of standard device operaion. This will be followed by more detailed discussion of device architecture and materials development wiht strong focus on high-efficiency phosphorescent devices. Finally, the projected impace and futre directions of OLEDs in the display and lighting marketplace will be discussed.
